You probably should have. Why can they not give you a free copy in your mailbox and add info on how to order it if you like it? I just do not like having people make house calls or phone calls to sell me something. I am perfectly capable of buying stuff I want without them.

Why, cher913, why, please tell me whyyyyyyy?! I have telemarkers calling all the time trying to sell me all sorts of things. I had to threaten to suit the local paper if they or their representatives ever cross my property line again----is it the money, or do they want my very soul? Can someone explain to us why we are tortured so?
I finally had to put myself on the do not call list (again). Things have quieted down considerably but the die hards are still calling. I suppose it is time to get that lawyer huh? Just in case you did not notice, cher913, I feel your pain and it hurts, it really hurts. You can never just enjoy a day of rest, even on Sunday. Thank goodness for caller id's.

Cher913,
Can't believe a salesman would have the nerve to come to your door on a Sunday evening! I would definitely complain to the powers that be at the local newspaper. That is just unacceptable! I am with you on this one, no salesmen allowed on Sunday!

I personally think that telemarketing should be outlawed. I also think that salesmen like the one you spoke of should have to make an appointment to meet with the family if they want to pitch a sale. I would not have been nice to that guy at all. Most salesmen don't have a chance at selling me anything anyway. Most of the time, I research the stuff I want to buy online, then I end up going to Walmart or Lowe's, or whatever store I have to go to in order to get what I am looking for. About the only time I will listen to a salesman's spill is if I am guaranteed to get some sort of gift certificate or cool prizes or something out of the deal whether I buy what they are selling or not. I have also gone to a couple of things where the company was set up at a restaurant as well. The guests would get to eat, and then would have to sit and listen to the people talk about their product or service. They usually have a brief restroom break between the meal and the presentation. I have found that this is a perfect opportunity to duck out and head for the car. The trick is to travel light and don't take a coat or anything else with you that may give the impression that you are about to skip if you take it with you when you go to the restroom. I actually ducked into the kitchen in one restaurant and went out the back door to get out of one of these presentations. The people in the kitchen looked at me like I was nuts, but I was parked close to the back of the place, so it actually worked out pretty well. The food wasn't bad either that night if I remember correctly. HAHAHA...ain't I a stinker LOL

Wow thats pretty bad. i think i would have been really rude to him. i've been getting pretty snappy with the salesman that call too. they always seem to call right when i'm in the middle of feeding the baby or my toddler is throwing a fit.

Then it's about time you got yourself a sign ;) I have one that says something along the lines of "I will not subscribe, purchase, or convert" and then a light hearted joke with a cuss word (nothing too rude). This always does the trick. Either that or my dog in the yard.
