how can you make extra cash out of your talents?

I'm not really a professional artist, but some of my friends tell me i'm really talented when it come to drawing. But I find myself to shy to actually sell my works since just other people appreciating them is enough to satisfy my spirits... do you think I should make drawing and sell them as...personalized bookmarks, t-shirts, or stuff? or price it on sketches? ...If you know you're good at something and would want to make extra money, how would you do it?

There are definitely options out there for someone who has artistic talent. Like there are sites like Cafepress.com, where you can upload your designs and out them on t-shirts, sweaters, messenger bags, bumper stickets, poster, etc.. you can even publish books through them, as well as cd's. As for me, I have always dreamt of being a singer, and in 2006 I got the opportunity to record a cd, and it was officially released online to sell in early 2007. I have sold some cd's and digital copies, but definitely not as many as I would like, and not enough to make enough money to get by. I do hope to make it to a higher level someday with my singing. But now I just wish I knew how to promote my cd better. Everyone who hears it ends up telling me how great it is, so I think people would really like it if they heard it, but that's the tricky part! I have a myspace specifically promoting my music, but these days it seems like you have to be wearing hardly any clothes to get attention on there. LOL Anyway, so it is defintely possible to make money from your talents, but you have to really know how to promote your works.

...I'm going to check that site out. ..wow, can I hear some of your works? and Nice point. There's no question about it that you have talent. The difficult thing is when you start to promote and to sell... When it comes to singing, i know a lot of frustrated singers out there who really has talent. But i get a little dissapointment when i hear an actress who can't sing actually realeas an album and sell it platinum. It's like more of selling their faces than the music itself...

Hi there, I suggest that drawing is not the only one you can share your talent and earn from it. If you know how to use Adobe Photoshop that would be great! Actually, I'm a freelance web & graphic designer for almost 4 years I guess. Knowing how to use this kind of software, I can say that I earned alot from it, I bought the things I like, I help my parents and gave them some of my earnings.. My parents are really proud of me and they were glad that God gave me a wisdom to pursue my dreams as a web/graphic designer. And you know, my friends, online friends, family is supporting me because they know that this kind of field is the best for me. I learn all this things by myself only ever since I came to online world since 2002. *Tagal no?!* ^__^ I just wanna share it to you sis. Goodluck to you.

I'm really impressed with graphic designs, photo manips. Hey, Have you got a deviant art account? You could share your art there too... I'm trying to use the photoshop as well.. I discovered that simle sketches could really have life when you color it through fotoshops. And you could add effects on it too. It would look more attractive and awesome. :)

Hi, It is great to hear that you are using your talent to make money. Sometimes, we have the talent but we do not have the opportunity to make money using the talent. I guess my talent will be hard working. The more I work and the harder i work, I will make more money.

I am a magician but until now I haven't gone professional simply because I'm still improving on my craft. I would really be very happy if I could make extra money out of it since there couldn't be anything better than earning money from what you enjoy doing. Regarding your talent I suggest you apply for publishing companies as an artist for books. Just prepare your portfolio and who knows you might be able to earn extra money from that.
