Spent too much on clothes...

Part of my spend-less-this-month plan involved putting together an excel file on my daily expenses. So today I was copying all the numbers from receipts I've accumulated over the past few weeks and guess what?! Almost 30% of my money was spent on clothes alone! Ugh! It's so bad! Even if I only buy clothes on sale or from the flea market, I enede up buying quite a lot after all. I'm so sad. I've been tricking myself this whole time, thinking that I'm saving when in fact I'm racking up a huge bill. I wonder what I can do to stop spending so much? It wouldn't be so bad if I have work already but so far I've had no luck in landing a job. Any suggestions?

Why do you keep buying clothes? Just because it's on sale doesn't mean you have to buy it. I buy clothes once in awhile, and only when they're needed. I used to be a big impulse shopper and think just because something I may use was on sale that I'd have to buy it. I learned that was making me spend too much money. So now I have a list of things I need and a list of things I want. I only buy the things on my list, and only when I can afford to. When you see something on sale you feel the need to buy it right then because you think it won't be on sale again. But chances are you can find the same thing or something similar at another time down the road. If you pass it up the first time then later think "I really should have gotten that" the next time you see it you'll pick it up, and it may be even cheaper next time.

Well, currently jobs are hard to find ANYWHERE so unfortunately, I don't know how to help you with that. Just keep positive and look for one! But yeah! To stop spending so much, whenever you pick up that cute top or jeans, ask yourself, "Is this a want or a need?" Since I work at Dots, a woman's clothing store, I end up spending most of mah checks there myself, but mah mom told me to ask myself that question and it's been helping me out so far. So just pester yourself! Have an internal argument and you'll be sure to save! lolz :DD
