With the one-way traffic of the fuel price hike within a year where the oil is priced at USD140 per barrel, transportation and traveling is becoming more expensive. At the same time, income remain stagnant while other expenses are skyrocketing as the effect of the fuel price hike. Given your personal experience, would be appreciate if you can share and suggest some practical ways to survive in the current scenario.

We have cut all but the essential trips out. When we do go into town we combine several errands into one trip.We are also seriously talking about starting a garden and canning veg. when they come in. My daughter and i are thinking about going in on a Sam's Club card together then combing our grocery lists so that we can buy in bulk. I also want some chickens so that we could have fresh eggs.I have threatened to get a cow for milk but i seriously doubt that i will go that far. I use a lot of Rachel Ray's left-over recipes to stretch grocery money. I also buy extra meat when i find it on a good sale so that when it isn't on sale i don't have to buy meat that week. My husband takes his lunch and his drinks so that he doesn't have to buy from the drink machine.
