I have done jobs like that for about the past 4-5 years. It seems like once u do it, u kind of stick with it. I like it because they have very flexible hours. You get to sit down all day. They pay pretty good for the work that u are doing. The only draw back is that when the work is slow, they will send people home early. I have work for Diam America (lots things they do there), Haband (catalog order) Compass Research (opinion surveys), Telenet (market research). I believe that the telemarketing experience helped me get my current job (receptionist/data entry clerk) What about anyone else?

I worked at a couple telemarketing companies. They were OK jobs but didn't pay very well and didn't have any benefits.

yes i have had a job as a telemarker, I must say that I didnt like it at all, I dont like the fact when a person say's no the company wants you to keep on on on until the say yes, or wind up hanging up on you.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I think telemarketing is the most dispicable job out there. Nothing like invading someone's privacy asking to buy something from whatever company you represent. Don't you think that if someone wanted to buy your product that they would seek you out and buy it? Good luck with your career!

I worked as a telemarketer for almost a year for a construction company and hated it! Im pretty shy as it is so i cant be "pushy" to the person on the other end like we were told to be. Plus, I couldnt stand getting yelled at or cussed at all the time!
