Where will music take you?

For me certain songs or genres of music can take me back to a place in time where I was first introduced to the music, band, song, or whatever. Many people find that certain music and songs brings themories which are (unfortunately in many cases) recall not a time but rather a person to mind. So my question is name a song or a band or genre of music and then tell me/us where listening to "it" takes you?

There is one song in particular I think of which is Roll On Eighteen Wheeler by Alabama and whenever I hear it,it takes me back to when I was a kid,and my dad was out driving a truck,because he gave me an old cassette tape with the song on it,and I always listened to that song,and I always wished my dad would come home.

I apologize in advance if this sounds soft and mushy but, THAT IS BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you for your response and sharing that. I bet you probably like songs about truck drivers and other modern nomads. Are you a rock and roll fan for life? i get that vibe from you (of course I am also entitled to be and have been known to be wrong!)
Do you like Pink? she has a song called 18 Wheeler that is great!
Of course the old songs Bon Jovi did in the 80's and 90's all have that Rockabilly kind of feeling to them. Heavy on the rock side.
Pat Benatar also did restless American nomad songs in the 80's
I can't think of any others offhand but I bet you can.

Hi There,
It is funny when you think of the power of music on the brain. There is no doubt it brings back memories of different times. For me it totally depends upon what I am listening to. If I hear some 80's rock it will remind me of my high school days. If I listen to the sound of the 1010 dalmations soundtrack it reminds me of when my kids were very small. Music is powerful that is for sure.

as for me,i like music that are slow not too slow even before i got bornagain so,that's why i love christian worship songs fro gospel artist like don moen,donnie mcckurklin,kurt carr,etc.those songs makesmeto remember how awesome my creator is and it bring me into ma closer walkm with him.
So,i'm palnning to also become a worship leader like don moen of integrity music.
