They just announced on the news that Wal-Mart is changing their logo to try and start to improve their image.I do not see anything wrong with their image.Wal-Mart seems to be the most popular store. Not just in this area, but a lot of places. In live in Virginia and joke when I go to Wal-Mart because there are so many people there from other states.I'll tell my daughter,"Look those people drove here from New York to go to Wal-Mart." Iam in Virginia and my friend in West Virginia goes to Wal-Mart,my relatives in Illinos and many other people I talk to say that they go there from all over the USA.Who has Wal-Mart in their area? Who thinks it is un necssesary for them to change their logo?

I agree with you. I don't think its necessary for Wal-Mart to change their logo at all. They are a very huge company, which is located all over. I'm not sure if they are international, but I would think they are. I know that there are plenty of Wal-Mart is Georgia, Alabama, and Texas. I enjoy going there, they have everything I could ever possible need. It's just a great place. Even if they do change their logo, they will of course remain big. I just think its a waste of time.

changing their logo really won't make much of a difference to me. we have a walmart, but it's a scaled down one. we don't have the grocery store added on,and it's not 24 hours.the area they put it in isn't that great, and they'd get robbed constantly if it were open past 9.

Actually there is four.I didn't think about that one because it is way on the other side of one county over.It is also just a regular Wal-Mart.I have never been in it.

I have not heard nor read this story yet. But we have WalMarts near us and we frequent them often. One is about a mile from me so it is easy to travel there. Some days I even ride my bike there and window shop. The problem I see though is that they seldom have new items in the stores near us. The same stuff and the same things on the clearance aisles/shelves. Now targets has a wider change of items at their stores and the clearance items are always different when we visit each weekend. I don't see why they need to change their logo. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

The Target stores around here have some good stuff, but most of their prices are higher then Wal-Mart.I have found I used to be able to get over the counter medicine's cheaper at Target.I have never really been able to use generic meds, because they don't work on me.But,the pain meds(like for headaches) generic form at Wal-Mart do work on me and they are cheaper.

I don't think they should change their name or logo. Why fix something that isn't broke? I have come to know and love Walmart ever since the first time I stepped foot in one. Sometimes change is not a good thing.

what kind of image do they have now? if u want anything here[tennessee] you have to go to wal-mart to get it. they have run all the small times stores out of buisness. out down town looks like a ghost town most of the time as do so many small towns that have had a wal-mart come in.

We have one here too...when we first moved here in 1991 they just had a small one and then a few years later they opened the SuperCenter and it's always packed. I rarely go anymore though b/c it's hard to walk through the whole thing...I actually prefer going to Dollar General and the local grocery store. As for their image...maybe they are trying to get ppl to see them as a more family oriented store instead of the huge faceless company that they are. I do know that they are directly responsible for a lot of smaller stores having to close down...it's too bad b/c I liked those smaller shops. Lol, that is funny about people from other states driving just to go to Wal-mart. When we went to Florida we went to Wal-mart too. I think it is because most Wal-marts are the same and even have the same layout, besides the super Wal-marts so you know what they have. I don't think it is neseccary but I guess a lot of companies change every so often to have a fresher image. I don't think it would help they business one way or the other.
