Yahoo Maps didn't tell us to drive through a Lowes parking lot!

We went to my husbands cousins house last weekend, just for a little R&R, hangin' out and shootin' the breeze. We always use Yahoo Maps - Map Quest has given us horrible results in the past. Everything was going great until we made this one turn and went straight into the Lowes parking lot. We figured we were lost and had no clue what to do now - the road only went in one direction so we couldn't have made a left instead of a right. Well, we called and asked har far she was from Lowes and she goes "OH, you're almost here!" So I'm like "OK... where did we go wrong" and she says "Just keep driving through the parking lot, around back and the street continues." Well, you'd think the directions would have said "Turn right into the Lowes parking lot and go through it to the other side." That was just so funny! We laughed about it all weekend!

LOL Talk about confusion...Maybe Lowes should have thought about that before sticking their store right in the middle of a road. I think I would have contacted Yahoo maps and let them know the error so they could fix it too...might save someone else some trouble. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

We did find out later, that while it looks like you're turning into the parking lot, there's another street that goes off to the right. We shoulda turned there instead of going through the parking lot. The last time we went up to our cousins, the Garmin took us a totally different way so we weren't able to see how it handled the Lowes parking lot.

That is funny. I've not seen nor heard of having to drive through a store parking lot to get to another section of a street. Well, at least Map Quest had it in the directions or you would have REALLY been lost!!

Yup, the directions were right, I just wish they would have told me that it was a parking lot so I would have expected it :)

Yahoo maps and mapquest are okay, but there is still nothing like a good ole fashioned map. I have put in addresses and gotten directions from say my house to another destination, and I have to laugh at the directions I get most of the time. And I really do when I already know how to get somewhere and the directions I receive from one of these sites is so off it would get someone that didn't already know lost. That is funny about the Lowe's parking lot lol, did they just decide to build a Lowe's in the middle of the street? LOL

We'd really like to get a Garmin or something but it's not in our budget right now. We have had maps in the past, but they always seem out of date. Most of the time I will just ask the person how to get there, I figure they drive it all the time! There actually is a road that goes in front of the Lowes parking lot, but it wasn't marked, it just looked like part of the parking lot.

I would have been the same way and wondered where I made a wrong turn or would have wondered when my cousin moved into a Lowe's store and failed to let me know. hahaha I bet that was funny and I agree, it should have said something on the map. At least they didn't build the Lowe's in your cousin's front yard.

We knew she was remodelling her house, and it does make it convenient! She's like 5 minutes away.

I hear you about Yahoo maps! I had to get somewhere in Wisconsin one time and followed the route that Yahoo maps gave me. It took me there ok but when I stopped and bought a road map I found out that Yahoo took me through the center of the state when I could have taken another route that would have saved me 2 hours of driving. Forget Yahoo maps...give me an old-fashioned road map and I will be just fine.

I do always look at the map part of the directions on Yahoo to make sure that's really the way I want to go. Had I known about the parking lot deal I'd have told it to take me a different way.
