chewing

Well i have an 11month old border collie and like all puppies he has gone through the chewing stage, well i thought he had.
He quite enjoys chewing plugs, shoes carpet everything.
He has calmed down a lot but is there anything anyone could suggest that may stop him chewing?
He has plenty of walks everyday and is not left on his own very often
he has plenty of toys and chews so i dont really know what to do.
can anyone help?
