(so to speak) I haven't written anything in a while, and I'm feeling like I want to. The problem is, I'm not feeling motivated by any specific topic. I like to write about parenting issues, crafts- mostly kid's crafts, and early childhood education. My links are in my profile for my Helium and AC articles if you would like to see my list of titles or read any of my previous work. I need some help brainstorming ideas. I'm open to suggestions. Does anyone have any suggestions for topics? Things you would like to read about? Things you or someone you know would find interesting or like to know more about?

I am in exactly the same boat. It has been ages since I last wrote anything and even then it's worthiness of being published is doubtful! Perhaps you could write about different games you can play with you little one, or the importance of jigsaw puzzles and building blocks? I am thinking of doing a birthday party series. Stuff like how to plan a party for a three year old boy or six year old girl or what ever. Hopefully others will be able to give enough suggestions to get us both inspired!

I, too, am having trouble coming up with new things to write. I am in the 7th edit of a novel which I am avoiding doing because, let's face it, editing is boring. I finally opened the document last week only to get 25 pages in and have my daughter ask me to drop everything and take her somewhere. That really bummed me out. As for coming up with new ideas for articles to write (for Triond) I am having a difficult time. I have an idea for my next novel but I don't like to start a big project until I am finished another. However, last night I was prompted to sit down and write the opening scene. I just couldn't NOT do it. There are short story contests I would like to enter as well but can't come up with a single idea to write about. It's frustrating.

what i would do is go to these sites and see what areas are lacking in 'expertise' and articles then go there and do some research and you are ready to add your two cents.

Maybe you could write about things that are going on for children in your community, particularly if they relate to your area of interest or expertise. Other's might be interested in that type of information.

Well, I found myLot is a great source of ideas. Just post to some random topics, write your opinion, and soon you will have several ideas to put in writing. Another source of idea is visit your favourite bookstore, and go to the section you never go before. Read some books, and build up your opinion in your mind (while you read). Hope it helps.
