And now for the twist...Not a sport or an electronic game. What is the last game you played. No TV games, not a sport just a game that anyone could play. I played a few games with my kids last night. I play a dice game called Pass Out and the I played Chinese Checkers. Wow it had been a long time since I played that. When did you play? Who did you play with? was it fun or were you bored?

The last game I played was a few weeks ago. It is some Ben 10 game that my son has. It was kind of fun. The game does not take very long to play. 15 minutes tops.

The last card game I played was with my fiance's family, his parents, grandparents, uncle and uncle's new wife from the Philippines. We had a blast! We played Skipbo. I don't know if you've heard of it, but you can play every man for himself or with teams. We decided teams would be best, so it was men against women. (Or should I say, boys against women.) Ha, ha. We passed the cards around and played three games so there would be no ties. The women won the first game, but the "boys" proceeded to win the remaining two games. What a shame! (LOL) I believe the reason they won was because they cheated. We made a rule that team members weren't allowed to speak to one another. The only people who could talk were the person whose turn it was to play their cards and anyone on the opposing team. I'm not sure if you're familiar with how to play this game, but each person takes their turn and can play an of their team member's cards that are laying out on the table (in other words, not in their hand). The guys were talking like crazy telling each other how and what to play while we women kept quiet and let the person responsible play to the best of their ability. My fiance's uncle's new wife was from the Philippines and had somewhat broken English, so she had a little difficulty learning the game at first and communicating what she wanted to do. That was the ONLY exception we made to the "no talking between team members during a play" rule. The lines of communication were open during the entire first game, however, since no one had played in a while and we needed a refresher. It's a bit frustrating when my team doesn't win, but I guess I won't hold it against my fiance for too long...I'm glad he hasn't brought it up since. (LOL)

What can be gained by siting down for a game of cards. If ever someone was to go to a familiy get together then you asked them what they did I would garauntee the answer would be. "Watch a race" or "Watched a game" on tv. There is no interation. People sit there and watch tv. Whatever happened to games or getting up and talking. Going out side. I have played skipbo before. It's a fun game. we don't have it anymore. I did see it at the store the other day. We bought 11 games to play with the kids since they are not allowed to be on electronics all summer.

Ah, yes. I remember now that your kids are still on their wonderful new summer agenda. That's very kind of you to buy them card and board games to keep them busy (while they're not playing outside, of course). I'm sure they have a lot of fun. I don't know their ages, but I'm sure Skipbo would be a game they could play. All you have to be able to do is count! If you do end up getting that game for them in the future and teach them to play, let me know how it goes!

Probably Uno was the last game I played. It never gets old! Great for taking on trips too since it's pretty compact. Other than that, probably Poker. Can you tell I'm a card fan? I'm probably a bigger board game fan, but I need to dig some of mine out.

UNO is a good game. My 6 year old can even play that. I was playing checkers last night. that is always fun too. With 4 kids you have to come up with some games to keep everyone occupied.

I still remember my last played game as Carroms. I think you all know about this Game. This is a Board game which includes coins and a Striker. The purpose of the game is to make the coins go fell in holes with the help of a Striker. Me and some of my friends played this game last week. Well, till date this is the last game I played.

The last game I played was Saturday night. My borther decided to come home for the weekend and I was spending time with my boyfriend so we spent the day at my house with my parents. We ended up playing volleyball in the pool, and then scattegories until about nine oclock at night. It was a wonderful evening and it has been so long since I played it. But it looks like my b/f and I will be playing more board games even though he's 33 and i'm 26

Sometimes the simple things in life are more enjoyable than all the technological advances. Give me a jigsaw or board game over the tv lineup anytime.

Hey doublelove!!! It's been since forever that I heard from you!!! I have a tip on something you might want to see, don't let me forget! Anyways, its been since forever that I played a board game. I think it was 2002 when I played this game called Digimon. It was based off the TV show. It was really a math game, as you collected strength points and then came across opponents. The points determined who won in a battle. It was fun, but really it was under our age range (I used to play with my children's father and a friend of ours.) So after a while we stopped playing it.

Go ahead and send me a PM with what you want me to see. Wow. that was a long time ago. It sounds like it is about time to pull out the old board games. What sparked this discussion was another discussion I had posted on "No electronics" Check it out. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1578249.aspx

I went and bought a card game called Phase 10 last night. The kids seem to really be occupying themselves withese type games. I think it is good for them intellectually as well.

It makes me think. how much time have I wasted trying to be entertained only to realize it was not all that entertaining. Let's simplify our lives and let those other thing be the fillers.

At least once a month my sister and I have what we call game night. My kids and I go to her house and we play games. The last game night we played Mad Gabs which is a sort of word game and it's a lot of fun. We also play Scattergories, Who wants to be a Millionaire? and several others. Most times we adapt the game to suit us, changing the rules sometimes. That's always fun because we get to argue about what gets changed. But it's always in good fun.

The last game I played was chess..I really like playing chess with my cousins, friends and brother. I have also participated in chess competitions when I was in college. Chess is a game which require lots of thinking- that's why I like it..

Always think ahead. What is your next move. Where do you go from here. Not the type of game that many would say "Keeps you on the edge of your seats" But if you know how to play it is the most intriguing and strategic game of all. Thanks for the response.

The last board game that I played was monopoly. I think I also played a game of Blokus either just after or just before but I forgot. Both these games are great because they can be played by four players and a game is always much more fun in numbers. Just out of curiosity, who else has heard of or even plays Blokus? I am always introducing my friends to it but I have not yet met anyone who has played it before.
