Is your cat always hungry?

My kitten, Little Buddy is constantly hungry. Or, at least, I think she is. Whenever, the cat food bag comes out of the pantry, she is the first one at the cat bowls. She always wants to eat, even if she has just eaten. Most times, she runs up on the other cats and snatches their food. She does not like to share. I guess she is hungry. Or, maybe she is eating out of habit. When she lived outside, she learned that you had to be the first one to the front door to get the most food. Now, she can have all the food she wants, night and day with no one to stop her. Do you think it's healthy for a cat to eat so much? Could she really be hungry? Maybe she is only eating small amounts each time. I will have to monitor her more closely. What do you think?

That's how my Jake and Scoots were when they were younger. Scoots first lived at my then boyfriends house, his Aunt had two cats. Scoots stayed in the basement apartment, as soon as the door was opened she would bolt through the door and start eating the other cat's food. Then when Jake came, he would eat everything in site. He even ate string beans and spaghetti. He once got into an unopened can of pounce, ate the whole can, then had poopy problems all day. lol Whenever I open he cabinet, where ever Jake may be, here he comes bouncing for the food. I fill both bowls, and when Scoots comes to eat, Jake will go to her bowl, she then goes to his bowl, he then goes to his bowl, back and forth until I yell at him to stop.

My Little Buddy does that too! How funny! Yes, she will have her own plate and still steal off the other cat's plate or bowl. She is just a laugh riot!

Yes, that is the case with her. She is a kitten and she used to live outdoors, for at least a month or so. She seems fine otherwise. She hasn't been sick in a year. So I guess it's normal behavior.

My cat is like this too, and he begs when I have ood of my own that I am eating. Las night I brought some rench fries and a cheeseburger home, and he was trying to steal the food the whole time I was eating it. I had just poured him a resh bowl of cat food, bu he wated what I was eating.

My big cat does that! He has a bowl in the kitchen near his laundry room. But he demands samples from my plate.

Hello dear beauty queen. I am not sure about cats' habit, but I guess that she must still have enough room for the food you give her, otherwise she would not like to give the food another try. Or maybe the food to her is very tasty and she just cannot help resisting her temptation to it. This is my understanding only. Good day, my beauty queen.

Yes, I do think that she finds the food very tasty. She is so happy to be inside the house where she can eat constantly. But she does not act sick. So I guess she is still a growing kitten. Thanks for your response.

Most people leave a big bowl of dry food out for their cats because cats eat all day long but never in big amounts. They eat a little bit and then move on. No one knows why they do this but it is the way cats are so don't worry about it. They're ok, it's all normal!

Our outside cat is always hungry, but I think that is from having to keep the dogs and the birds out of her food. They boss her around. Our inside cat is always crying for food, but it is really more about attention for him. You can give him food and he is still crying at you.

That may be her issue. She is very needy. But my big female cat is the lap sitter. She won't let anyone else near me. Except for my daughter. Then she makes way and lets me do my Mommy job!

My cat is constantly meowing at me to eat more food. I try to put her on a diet and she just ends up meowing in the middle of the night when I am trying to sleep.

if she's snatching the other cats food,it sounds like she's intimidation eating.i've had a couple that will "claim" all the food if you don't watch them. the ones i have right now are all nibblers, they nibble infrequently all day when the mood strikes them.

Hi There, My cat is quite similar. She is always hungry and if you put food in her bowl it will be gone in the blink of an eye! The difference between my cat and yours however is mine is about 18 years old. She also looks like a beachball. I dont think it is healthy to overfeed cats, but they seem to always find where food is. cheers,

My kitten was constantly hungry. Bo Bo not fully grown yet but does not qualify to be a kitten. Hes got fat to prove his hunger. I think we should name him jiggles because he does jiggle when he walks.

Hey beauty queen All my cats are always hungry and go crazy once our pantry door opens. In the morning they all will eat a huge bowl of the cat chow , and then later they will have the can food . Then , I will give them another bowl of the chow . Sometimes,The chow will stay in the bowl through out the day , but that is rare . My oldest cat shadow is always hungry . When I eat lunch or any snack she will just stare at me and meow non stop . This is coming from the cat when I first got her didnt want any food . Now she will eat everything !
