Should I be flattered?

Someone just came to the door with petition papers (which I don't like to sign without reading thoroughly because so many petitioners do bait-and-switch tricks) and asked me if my parents were home! !!!!! I was so shocked, I said "Oh my god, I'm 26." And I probably came off as rude. I took the paperwork, it's about environmental stuff, but still, solicitors are annoying, and I am shocked I apparently pass for a teenager?

Your picture shows that you are retaining your youth better than most...count your blessings. I'm 57 and look every year of it. It all seemed to come on at once. I got senior citizen prices at Burger King last year. I didn't even ask for it. Haven't been back since.

Thanks. I know it's all relative, but just when I'm getting settled into being an adult, it was a little odd! My dad got a random senior discount when he was only 50, he tried to take it in stride but it rattled him. Hell, when people like Jane Fonda are 70, nobody seems "senior" anymore.

Oh boy, you're still really young :) I was 17 when the South Park movie came out, along with American Psycho, and I had no issue being ID'd, but it was weird.

As long as people think you are younger than you are, then there is no reason to feel insulted. Enjoy it for as long as it lasts. Eventually, your age may catch up with you and you will wish for the day when you were either mistaken for a kid or carded in some bar or restaurant.

I still appreciate getting carded, no doubt :) Plus the girl with the petition was really young, like late teens. It was slightly awkward for her when I reacted...

Well I think you should be flattered. I'm 19 and people think that I am like fifteen or fourteen but most of it is because i'm really short. I'm 4'11". But I think you should be flattered that they thought you were younger. I mean look at those people that are getting botox to look younger.
