Yesterday I was reading a news about a man who was abused by his wife and nobody believed him including the cops. What do you think a man do for domestic violence?

I think regardless of whether it's a man or a woman they should be held accountable for their actions. There's never a reason for one partner to strike another partner. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

If she poses a considerable threat to him then absolutely. No one should be able to do harm to another person and not face consequences.

Absolutely!! Why should there be a difference? I don't think anyone should be turned away when they claim that.

I have seen it happen first hand as my mother is very bad for this. She was beat so much in the past that she is now the abuser. And I agree with the other responses i think women should face the same consequences as a man does for domestic violence.

If someone is guilty of domestic violence, the penalty should be based on the severity of the violence and not on the gender of the offender. Maybe more women get away with it because or the gender stereotyping which still exists ?

Hey! I'm not a terribly violent person, so I hope no one thinks poorly after this but I decked my boyfriend once. He was my first love and everything and I was so in love with him. All of my friends were envious of me and my great relationship. He never really liked me hanging out with my friends however. Well one night I decided to go out with the girls to a restaurant and he told me he was staying in. When I got there I saw him at a table with another girl. I got so embarrased that I walked over to him and hit him. We lasted for 4 years after that. I still think he deserved it. But maybe I should have gotten in trouble. It doesn't matter much now since he's with someone else. I think I will always love that boy that I knocked out at TeeJays.

I'm a woman and I have to say that if a woman is hitting her husband then she should have the same penalty as a man. I don't really think that just because she's a woman she should be treated differently. Although when it comes to jobs and stuff like that we are treated differently. But it's the same thing and I have seen shows where they haves shown women hit their husbands and hit them and I was just really shocked.

Any woman that abuses a man should, indeed, suffer the same consequences. Many men do not report abuse because they fear that no one will believe them which makes it terribly sad. Maybe they could videotape their women beating them and show that to the cops!
