Seems like a silly question I know, but we are now watching a show on the History Channel that is about dung beetles. The announcer guy just a few minutes ago said he thought dung beetles were beautiful.
Now, I know they perform a useful function, but that doesn't mean they are prety by any means. They are ugly little creatures!

I am not sure I remember what a dung beetle is, yet, I'm sure I've seen at least a picture of one.
Since it is a bug, I am guessing I would not think that it was beautiful. And, if it eats dung (I'm afraid by it's name that it does), all I can think is, eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!
Hmmm, sunnflr, I'm gonna have to say, no, I don't think dung beetles are beautiful.

P.S. Hope that saying that doesn't send any bad karma my way...

Yes it does eat dung. They were showing them rolling it up and moving it and stuff in India I think it was on the show last night.
Of course they said without them they would have serious problems with the dung pilling up in places, so they are very necessary.
I've seen rolly polly bugs we call them that do almost the same thing and they aren't pretty either!

Okay, sunnflr. This is just all too grossy and nasty to even contemplate. But, fascinating...

LOL Anything that has anything to do with dung CAN'T be beautiful!
I've seen the little buggers working away on their "poop balls". They are definitely some hard workers! But beautiful? Nuh Uh!
That announcer seems to be a little bit TOO MUCH into his work!

its quite different when you see them often in real life. you get to notice how perfect they are. that in itself, is beautiful. i have seen them many times, and its the perfection and harmony of nature that gets me every time.
