When You Start a New Game...

Do you tend to play it religiously and tend to "ignore" everything else? These days, I want to take my mind off work and I dig out my NDS. Got a few new games and I tend to play it religiously and ignore everything else (even eating! *laughs*). I guess it's not good to keep on doing that, but it's good once in awhile to really get into something other than work! *laughs* What about you?

yes, i do tend to play it religiously, too. whenever i play i game that i like, i tend to forget anything. i want to finish the game so badly that i even skip meals. even sleep. i know it's not healthy so i do keep myself away from games as much as possible.

Yup, that does happen with me and it does to the point where I actually feel I'm neglecting the others. Nothing wrong with that. Its just the excitement and enthusiasm of the moment. If you really prefer something else you'll go back to it. I always do. I love finding new games to love. The more the merrier and when you find them - play them !

I pay attention to everyhting that is going on around me of course, I have 2 kids. Now my husband on the other hand is a Warcraft player just like me. But he can ignore everything around him, and be in the zone. If I am home alone with the kids at school, I am in the zone. But with the kids here which is most of the time, I can not zone in

Sometimes I think it is just easier to ignore everything else when your involved in a new or awesome game. Life can be a turbuelent pain in the neither regions. So they invented video games for just that reason. A positive release of all things negative. I think all people who play video games at one time or another are most diffenetly guity of over abundance, but hey it's a break from the real world.

No, I still make time for eating, sleeping and worrying about my new job. I'm trying to focus on just a few games right now, but it's hard because I have so many!

When I play a video game I do focus on it completely, but I also pay attention to whats going on around me, especially my fiance, and I will often sit and have a conversation with my fiance while I am playing whatever video game I am playing.

I was like that before... i tend to put all my attention to a game... and try to break my own record... to the point that i neglect eating or sleeping... and the only way to get me off the game is when i really need to go to the bathroom... well those days are over... since i have more responsibilities to think of... like taking care of my baby...

Yes, new games are somewhat addictive for me. I am going to really miss a silly game called Four Seasons which I got addicted to on King.com as that site will not allow members to log in from where we live in the fall and winter. Now they have a new policy of charging $10 USD if we don't log in and play the games at least once a month. As we will be out of the allowed area until next spring it seems that I will have to cancel my account. Bummer. And I was nowhere near being tired of that new game yet!

Yes, I do the same thing when it comes to video games I really like. One good recent example is Persona 3 for the PS2. I focus completely on that when I'm playing it, sometimes for several hours in a row in a day... I'll even leave it on when I rush off to get dinner or shower, haha.
