Be still! I'm going to give you a big kiss on the top of your head!

Just now I had to pick up my big cat and put him into the laundry room so he won't be wondering around the house in the middle of the night and making noises. He doesn't usually mind being in there. That's his private sanctuary. For some reason he cuddled up against me as I was carrying him and I felt inspired to kiss the top of his head over and over again. I don't know why. The way he was acting just made me think of him when he was a kitten. He was my little boy! Do you ever kiss your cat on the head or feel affectionate toward them? Does your cat help you when you feel lonely or sad?

I had a hamster when I was a kid. It was really cool But it kept running away into the house and hid behind stuff. I had to entice it out with veggies. So funny! They can't stand extreme cold though.

Not so much with this cat, but with my old kitten I rather enjoyed her love. They are natureal healers of the heart, truly they are. I think it's rather cute when they are affectionate because cat's really don't like to be affectionate creatures. When they do you just have to soup up their lovings because they don't usually last long. Dogs however will have you petting you all the time. Have a Great day.

That's so true about cats being sparing with the love. I had forgotten that about dogs. It's been years since I had my dog. I miss him!

What kind of dog was he? Dogs can be such attention seekers, I love them but I also love cats.

German shepherd mix breed. Very loving dog. Very protective. He was a miniature, barely 18 inches high.

I wonder if you just wish I would skip over your cat discussions. I'm sorry if you do. I don't have cats but I can completely relate to those feelings with my dogs. We can be very affectionate towards each other, one in particular. She gets cuddly at times and I know she just wants to sit on the couch next to me and be loved on. I kiss her on top of her head and play with her ears. Sweet side note, she is always there for me too. When I cry, she is always there for me, cuddling and snuggling up as if she is trying to take my pain away. Awww, I teared up just typing that. It is a very special bond, indeed.

You know that I always love hearing from you! It doesn't matter that you don't have cats. Reading your post, made me miss my dog. He's been gone for years. But it makes my heart cry when I think about him. He was so amazing. Thank you for sharing such a sweet story about your dog. The need for companionship and true friends is universal. Be well! Drop by anytime.

Cats and dogs are so worthy of our love and friendship! They give us so much for free. What more could we give them in return, except for our unconditional love and devotion. Thank you for your kind comments!

See my mum would kiss her cats heads repetitively throughout each day! So through watching her and her love of cats I can understand why you would kiss your cats head! After saying all that though, I don't actually own any of my own cats anymore (he passed away last year) and I have a thing about hair in my mouth - makes me gag big time! I must say though, cats are usually lovely creatures - especially when they like you so their affection is very lovely when you are feeling lonely or sad. But if they don't know you they can really be snobby sometimes!

Yes, they do have their reclusive and allusive sides! That's for sure.

Seems that Mysti and Shakti are the same age. I think Shakti is a year older.

I always kiss my cat and my husband's cat on top of their heads. They love it. I also like to kiss my husband on top of his bald head when he is asleep, and I've just applied fresh lipstick. He wakes up in the morning with lip prints on top of his head, and ofte wears them to work before someone tells him they ae up there.

oh yes.i'm always doing that. the one boy however won't let me if other people are around.it's like a kid saying "don't kiss me,mommy". it's hilarious. it's impossible to be sad around these guys-they seem to know when clowning is required.

Oh I kiss my cats all the time!! Most of them love it and some don't but I do it anyway. lol I have one that will kiss me back!! lol That one is Daisy. Having nine cats, I have a little bit of a variety when it comes to personalities. I do have one that will come to me when I'm upset and try to make me feel better. That one is Gracie. She came to me when I was on the floor crying from the nervous breakdown I just had. I let her know that her mommy is going to be ok and that I loved her. She stuck by me the rest of the day!

Hi Beauyqueen, Cats or dogs seem to have an uncanny knack over just knowing when us humans need extra love and affection but they let us know too when they do and I will often to give hugs and extra affection to my two cats but I don't kiss them, they both love to be rubbed under the chin and if I stop and they want more they will nudge me to let me know. I never do either! Except last night. It was one of those spur of the moment things. And it caught me by surprise. When he was a baby kitten I would kiss him on his head. And last night he curled up against my chest like a kitten as I was carrying him and I had a flash back of him as a kitten. It was one of those impulse things, not planned at all. I haven't done anything like that in years. He is getting older, almost ten years old. He won't be with me forever. I will miss him when he goes! I really will.

They too grow up so quick too don't they, the same as children. It only seems five minutes ago since mine were kittens. Ellie :D

Yes they do! Cats are the most amazing animals. Some people see them as selfish and aloof but I don't see them that way at all. Cats are simply reserved about handing out their affections. Once they like someone, then they are more than happy to be with that person forever! It's a real love match. Thanks for your kind words Be well. Have a beautiful day!

Hello beaytyqueen26, My cats have the run of the house and they sleep in the bedrooms and one of the cat always try to sleep above my head. Ioften pick my tom cat up and gave him a cuddle and kiss him all over his belly and yes when I'm sad they will round and sit on my lap. Regards Tamarafireheart
