while i go to my village during my vacation i cook food using wood instead of LPG, its a tedious process but its still fun, cos just like LPG you cannot adjust the flame by turingnthe knob, so you have to b e always near the fire to see if everything is ok, but wood cooking not feasibile on a routine basis

We tried it last summer its save you alot of money and ofcourse using LPG. It feels like you're just in a camp site making a bonfire. Hehe!

Yes, at one time my only cook stove was one that burned wood. It really isn't hard, once you get used to it. No harder than cooking with gas. There are benefits to it, like seldom burning food (which I now do!), and warming the room or home when it's cold outside. Also, the oven is always "on," so you can bake any time without having to wait to heat it up.

I prefer cooking over wood instead of charcoal or gas/propane. Fruit woods especially add a nice flavor to meats! Apple or cherry woods are two I love to use! I was raised in the woods, though. Wood was plentiful and I got use to foods cooked over wood when we camped out! There's nothing like cooking a marshmallow or a weenie over wood flames at night and watching the flames dancing around!

Why do you have to be near the fire to see if everything o.k. In the olden days wood was the prefer choice of cooking. Yes you hang the pot over the wood fire and cook. If the fire is too powerful for the simple pot you are cooking you just draw out some of the logs and out them and use the ones that will not make the food burn. Wood and coal gives the food a distinctive taste that LPG does not. I prefer to eat food from this form of fire then the LPG. To me it is not tedious it is yes enjoyable and makes one enjoy the art of cooking more.

I am not a very good cook... and i have never tried to cook using wood instead of the regular LPG... and i hope i will never experience that... only good cooks can pull that of... and people like me need to use the advantages of the LPG and stove in order to make the food more edible...
