I hope to read and sing to my children every night in future when i have them. I think it's important to have some time with the kid before bed every day. it's a good habit to nurture and i think they will really enjoy that. it also provides stability to their growing up years. i would ask my husband to take turns with me cos it's also a good way for the dad to bond with the kids. i think the mum can be exhausted after a long day with the kids, but this is a good chance for the dad to spend time with the kids and help in their learning process.

I don't know why but children are so fond of hearing stories particularly during bedtime. My 2 children are not exception to this. I have to read at least 2 or 3 short stories to them before we call it a night. Though reading is not that tough or rigid activity to do, I'll find it sometimes hard or gruesome to do particularly when I'm so tired from work. Anyway the smiles on their face makes it very much worth to do.

I tell them stories rather than reading. Reading many times keeps you concentrated on the book rather than on your kid. To get the intimacy and proper conveyance of the moral of the story you must try telling story. Find time to do so.

i have no children, but my neptew sometimes spent their weekend at my house. When bedtime came, I'll let him to stay in bed and he starts to sing any thing that he thought it is a song until he fall to sleep.
