Hi, I like Canon more than Nikon. Canon has been in the digital camera industry for quite a long time. The photos quality of Canon is quite good too. I like the DSLR of Canon. For Nikon, I am not too sure because I never hear any good and bad news about it.

Hi, Sure, I will go try it out when there are cameras fair or cameras roadshow. I will try to compare Canon and Nikon. The problem I hear about Nikon is that the DSLR of Nikon does not support lens from other lens manufacturers. Nikon DSLR only supports the Nikon lens which is quite expensive and quite less options to choose from.

Hi, I went to try the Canon EOS40. It is not very good. Today, I went to a model road show in a shopping mall and I saw a lot of people are using Nikon. So, I think Nikon is a good brand to choose.

Yes I would prefer a Nikon too, Canon is good to, so it really doesn't matter which brand you will go for because both are great and the two leading brands today. It's a matter of choice for your friend.

I was given a Nikon D40 DSLR for Christmas from my s/o. He did his homework before making the purchase, and I love the Nikon. The pictures it takes are fantastic and not only can you put it on a 'point and shoot' setting, for some that is easy to use until they learn more about apertures and settings, you can also set it to manual and set the differnt settings yourself. I was in photography for years, and had a 35mm camera, and learned the settings. The Nikon is what a lot of people use in different professions, they also use this camera for crime scene investigations. I'm not real sure about Canon, I do know that my dad had a Canon 35mm (film) camera and had a lot of problems with it, but like I say I am not familiar with their digital cameras.

I use Nikon. My mom uses Nikon. All of my photographer friends use Nikon. I do know a few Canon users who have or are considering switching to Nikon, but I've never heard of a Nikon user deciding to switch to Canon. My mom used to work for a photo studio and her job was to edit all of the photos that were taken by the different photographers that work there. She says that she could see a significant difference in the photos taken by Canon cameras and those taken by Nikon cameras. She says the Nikon photos were more dynamic, vibrant and had better color tones. She said the cameras taken by Canon cameras were a lot duller in color.

both of them are very good and its going to be a hard decision for her. i havent had any experience with any of them, but i have seen that most of the people who own a proffesional camera recommend Nikon, and they have a Nikon for themselves. But Canon isnt bad either. so, it doesnt really matter which one you choose because both of them are good.

The sales and survey stats say the opposite: about twice as many pros use Canon as Nikon (although the new Nikon D3 may well change that).
