I question this person's statements and his conclusions...
I do know that our President and his policies are responsibile for devaluing the dollar and that the War in Iraq was part of what he did, printing more and more money was also part of it.
The Republican Party's support of large corporations which have no loyality for this Nation and also the support of the Democratic Party for these same corporations is the real reason for the problem, that and the rampant and uncontrolled speculation and the agreements that were made to decrease our refining capability.
I will never again vote for any Republican candidates as too me they are rats.

the word game from democracy,
last I checked for the last 8 years bush a republican has been in power and he didn't do anything to produce american oil either, but he did rob iraq of its oil for his own private interests.

Republicans only care to help those who have the money to help themselves. Democrats actually try to help everyone not those with just money. I can't believe someone would actually believe that load of bull posted in the link. Not only is it propaganda but it's really sad what people will believe.

well I tend to beleive it when the head of a company comes out and tells ya what they get charged if they drop oil! Phillip 66 was around got a long long time and I knew we got gas out of Wyoming for year a place called Midland or maybe its Midway Wyoniming I have been there saw to pumps going and even had a friend work onthe oil rigs. To bad they have been ordered not to pump much! what it said 4 barrels a day!

Hi Lakota! I am hoping that this whole oil situation will be a huge wakeup call for the American people. There is only one way to solve this problem and that is to develop alternative fuels that we can produce ourselves and lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
I have been encouraged to see more hybrid cars on the road lately but it's just not enough. We really need to move much faster toward hydrogen fuel cells, flex-fuels and completely electric cars.
We should take a big lesson from Brazil. In one generation they became fuel independent. They buy no foreign oil because all their vehicles run on ethanol which they produce themselves. We are so far behind. Here's a great article on Brazil's fuel independence.

I hope we can learn from their example and start electing people who are willing to fully back the development of alternative fuels. It's not going to be easy but it has to be done.
Hugs to you my friend :D
