Will We Still Have ALL Of Our Rights and Freedoms Next 4th Of July?

As the anniversary of our country's independence approaches, several other issues of freedom and independance loom on the horizon! One of the most distressing is the approaching Senate vote on the Barack Obama sponsored bill S2433! This bill, if passed, will literally put many of our constitutional rights and freedoms in the hands of the UN! One of these rights would be taxation without representation! If our senate passes this bill in all of its glory the United States would be responsible for providing .7 percent of our GNP for the prevention of world poverty! Here is how this figure came about: http://mirror.undp.org/unmillenniumproject/press/qa4_e.htm Now I don't know about everyone else here, but the UN is the LAST institution I want distributing my tax-paid-for aid dollars since they did such a bang-up job with the food-for-oil program! I might also add that this bill declares the goals one in the same and subserviant to the United Nations Millennium Declaration, General Assembly Declaration 55/2 (2000) This pretty much takes the United States out of the loop in many of our foreign aid decisions and puts the UN in charge! It seems to me we fought a war over just this type of misrepresentation! It seems we didn't like the British taxing us without some sort of say in the matter! This "Millennium Declaration" also lays the groundwork for the complete disarrming of the US citizens, thus making any discussion of 2nd ammendment rights a moot subject! To be fair, the wording is "outlawing illicit small arms and weapons" but I ask you, DEFINE ILLICIT! Furthermore, how easy is it to change the definition of ILLICIT? The rights of the citizens of the US and the decisions of just how much money we send over seas MUST remain in the hands of the US, her elected officials and her citizens! Senator Obama is so anxious to join the global community? Then by all means Barack, GO JOIN IT, but leave the US out of it! Our government, laws, freedoms and people have done just fine without the "Global" community overseeing our every move! In case you would like to see the UN Declaration 55/2 in its entirety, here it is: http://www.un.org/millennium/declaration/ares552e.pdf Here is an article that explains what it all means: http://www.aim.org/aim-column/print/obamas-global-tax-proposal-up-for-senate-vote/ This time next year or 2013 or later will we still be singing "The Star Spangled Banner" and saying the "Pledge of Allegance" as we approach the 4th of July? As we look at an example of just how Barack Obama wants to direct our nation, can we take the chance on his change?

Frankly, and with complete respect to the United States and all her citizens, I feel sorry for all of you who feel this dilemma. I'm English .. whoops!, sorry, I'm supposed to say British aren't I ! On a much smaller scale, and in lesser context, I remember when, as a lad, the people in suits were full of their own opinions about how wonderful our country will be when we join what was then called The Common Market. Many years on, I know not one person who has anything good to say regarding this supposedly 'wonderful union' which we were all supposed to experience. Instead, our country is riddled with laws, on a daily basis, telling us that we can't do this and we must do that - more often than not, these laws are seen as utter stupidity by THE REAL PEOPLE THAT MATTER - THE CITIZENS OF OUR COUNTRY. Law is just one aspect of all the negativity experienced by this subject and it has all manner of aspects which concern many people. In summary, I'm afraid that I have no respect at all for the people who try to transfer power to other entities, and for as long as there are people in a country, it is they who should hold the keys to any and all significant change. Not self-serving politicians. I hope your dilemma reaches a decent and proper conclusion.

GranTurismoGuru, Thanks for your comment. I too remember the "common market" and it seems that it benefited no one! Now in Europe comes the "European Union" with their own currency and standards and one day it will evolve into the New World Order which is the last place America and Great Britain need to be! The NWO will be the destruction of civilization as we know it!

The only useful thing the Union of Neurotics is to turn that building into an artifical reef. Beyond that nothing less would deserve an ounce of mine or anyone elses money. I know these is going to sound a little cold and black hearted but someone has to be mature. The world can take care of itself, and it is not the job of the USA taxpayers to pay for someone to wipe the butt of people around the world. Exporting entitlements great idea, not only do we have too many spoilt, grippy, lazy American, but Obama wants to create more spoilt, grippy, lazy foriegners. I say let us export Obama to the world, it seem they love this guy. I bet if they had to put up with his loonies the rest of the world would not love this guy so much. If so many anti-American love this guy maybe we do not need him.

If you want to see what it will be like look at Somilia (Blackhawk Down). When our troops went in to capture a person the UN Wanted for Crimes and they got trapped the UN relief force would not leave its base until it got approval from the UN command. Then when they got to the ambush site they loaded the prisoners in the Armored Carriers and told the Americans to walk out because they only had seats for the prisoners and the driver would not overload his vehicle. The UN later released the prisoners when they agreed to distribute the UN Food shipments. If you want true economic growth in these countries let the free market work. Look at North and South Korea. Which one is booming and which is starving. Look at Post WWII Europe Free Market countries grew and Government controlled economies were suffering. All the UN program would do is to prop up the little dictators and they grow wealthy and the people starve. I would like to see one country that was controlled by a Dictator That was helped by Foreign Aid that grew and expanded its economy. If my tax money is going to be used I want to see a democracy with the free market economics and then see what happens.
