To be a good listener, you should show patience and willingness to listen to someone.Listen carefully to what the person said.Let them know you understand and heard what they said by commenting. It is not by agreeing or disagreeing,it is about giving your full attention. Then, show interest to what they said.

i guess when with someone and someone is chatting...maybe respond with questions to clarify what they are trying to say and ask them to further elaborate on what they are talking about...the topic can go on back and forth into a conversation that might start something interesting...

People tend to give quick response to speakers. But in many occasions, what they really need is your patience and care, not those sort of reasonable comments or analysis. So whenever you are goning to give those critical advice, just think it over if it will make any sense to anyone.

Yes having patience to listen is important not to offend the person whos talking.

what, what did you say? lmao just kidding. I try to be a good listener but sometimes I admit I am not. I sometimes pretend to listen and a few minutes later could not even tell you what was said.

Summarize what you heard them say and then ask follow up question. Don't appear to agree if you don't.

We can share our own idea if we don't agree to what they said.

Very straightforward post. Although sometimes you are not supposed to comment at all; sometimes the person speaking just needs an ear to listen, or a shoulder to lean on as they talk. In these cases you shouldn't comment unless you're asked to.. or at least try to hold back a good deal of the comments you might make unless encouraged to share. It all depends on the bodylanguage of the speaker, and what they want.
