I was taking photos the other day of all my garden plants. When suddenly from the middle of my strawberries out flew this bird. It landed on the roof of my garage and sat for a few minutes as I took photos. It has a tiny tail at the end of it's body. An orange spot on it's underbelly. White spots scattered across a light brown body as well. Black eyes. I am in Minnesota. Does anyone know the species of this bird at all? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It looks a lot like the Spotted Wren that is is found in the Sierra Madre areas of Mexico. If it isn't the spotted wren, I still think it is some type of wren.

I am no bird expert by any means AGB and there are different species between there and here but I think it looks kind of like a finch although it seems to be a bit bigger than the average finch! Great photo though sweetheart and he is very cute! xxx

Sorry, I asked my mom and even she doesn't know what it is, she grew up on a farm and knows nearly every bird in the midwest. Perhaps it's an out of state visitor?

Hi Grandpa Bob it looks just like the Brown Trashers we used to see in the summer in south dakota, color and size andbody shape look the same. I read that they are related to mocking birds but stay in the colder climes, also they steal other birds songs like a mocking bird too.
