I hope we didn't just buy a very expensive "shelf"

We've been knocking around getting an eliptical (sp) machine for a while now, and tonight we got one. Both my husband and I will use it - my husband probably more than me. I walk almost every day, so I'll probably only use it when the weather is bad. My husband has bad knees and some problems with his back, so most conventional exercise is out for him. I'm really hoping that our good intentions of using the machine keep up strong because my worst fear has been buying an exercise machine and have it become the worlds most expensive clothes hanger. Do you have exercise equipment? And do you use it for exercising or hanging stuff on?
