Why can't you love me?

Have you experienced being in love with someone who never and cannot love you back?..even if you've given him everything..doing favors for him..as in everything?..but still nothing...Then what have you did? Did you just stopped..or continue loving him?

I recently went back with my ex who I had been with for 5 years and he dumped me. We were apart for 2 years and now we are together again. I know he doesn't love me but I love him and that's ok with me. He does respect me and we have a lot of great times together. I feel there is a lot more to a relationship than love.
