Were you forced to join Facebook?

I suddenly got emails from Facebook ages ago, yet I never joined. I hated facebook, because it was a hard-to-navigate site with no clear way to sign in. I know this has changed somewhat, but I still prefer not to use Facebook.

I don't really remember how I first joined. I think that it was because my friends were just always talking about facebook and I was getting sick of being left out of the conversations.
So I made an account, but then I got bored with it and stopped going to the site. Then last summer I went to Thailand and met a lot of cool people there. Most of them had facebook pages and were going to use it to keep in touch with each other afterwards. So when I got back home I went back to my facebook page, found a lot of friends on there that I don't see on a regular basis, and have been a bit addicted ever since.

LOL I wasnt forced..hell you can't "force" me to do anything 
BUT I do recall about a yr ago getting emails from some of my nieces requesting that I join but I just ignored them...then last fall I stumbled on the site and ended up joining...I love it there now LOL
