Or Are You Too Busy To Do So? Do You Have A Special Book Which You Read Every Single Night and doesn't get Tired of it? I have started reading bedtime stories again but this time to both my 9 years old and 9 month old. The eldest still enjoys baby stories and laughs with me when my little one giggles at my expressions. I love changing voices just to make an impression that there are different characters in a story. And also make the appropriate actions which sometimes surprises both of them.. I read until they look sleepy. We don't have a special book because my little one gets bored with the same story each and every night. So, I change the book when I have already finished it..

I don't have kids. I do spend some time alone reading, beore I fall asleep. I am in the middle of a really good book now, and it's nice to spend time reading at the end of the day. It's a good way to relax before going to sleep.

well, I'm pretty sure that when you have your own kids, you will also read to them, because I sense that you love reading..you'll be a great story teller when that time comes...thanks...

Books are very important to read from a very young age and I have always thoroughly enjoyed reading to my three. They have their own favourites but I have quite a vast collection for them to choose from. I think it encourages them to read as they become older by doing this. I don't always get round to a bedtime one every night but will read in the afternoons too quite often. My son will watch a programme called bedtime hour and we will have a snauggle with a book when that finishes but sometimes he is alseep before page 2 LOL. I also make up my own stories too all about him and his day and he adds to it anything I have left out. Is is lovely to hear that you have so much fun reading with them. Keep up the good work! Ellie :D

Oh wow, Thanks so much for the best response, really appreciated. The stories about their day are just so funny and you really get to understand how they see things, for example today in the story I said the little boy (my son) was to tell the story teller what things made him happy and guess what he said 'when mummy goes to work' :( and then added 'because I get to play games with my friend and I beat him sometimes' I wondered what I had done wrong for a minute but it tells me that he is happy at the childminders as he has fun and plays games and sometimes wins too. Thought for a minute he had gone off mummy LOL. Ellie :D

i dont put my brothers to sleep... it is what my mom does... she will do them one by one... so as to have an easier time... but i think that reading with the kids is good in a way that you will have a special bond with the kids... but it is a long term thing... so i think that is the reason why she does not do that...
