I found this cute little denture and spec holder at a garage sale a couple of weeks back. She is soooo cute! It's an Enesco piece imported from Japan. I don't have dentures but wear specs. I am thinking of listing it on ebay though. Have you found anything really interesting or just plain cute on a garage or rummage sale?

First glance at this discussion I really thought you were going to garage sales looking for dentures..lol I haven't been to a rummage or garage sale for years. I should start frequenting them but just don't take the time. Someone is very often having a garage sale around the neighborhood. Do you list alot of items on e-bay and is it profitable? I tossed around listing my crafts but think it would be more trouble than it's worth since my crafts are reasonably priced.

Did you read a tutorial about e-bay or just figure it out by trial and error? I am about half way interested in learning and would like to know the easiest method. Thanks a bunch.

I have listed a few things and actually had a store for a while but never sold one thing....but I am going to try again...it really doesn't cost that much so I'm going to give it a whirl. Hopefully some of it will sell!

Oh Jill, I just so love a good rummage myself. Well done on your find, you won't need dentures so sell but very cute I agree. My greatest find was a slate painted with a beautiful picture of a cottage on the hill by the sea, I bought it in 1992 and decided there and then that I would achieve my goal of living by the sea and placed it on the fireplace, in 2000 I achieved that goal and am now living my dream by the sea. It cost me 80p, just over a dollar but it is worth the world to me and still is a centre piece in my lounge. Ellie :D

Ah that's perfect! My son collects pictures and painting he finds at sales....I think he has about 25 or more hoping someday to find a real score! But it's so wonderful you made it your life dream and that the dream has come true!

I buy from Ebay more than anything. Doesn't seem to be a good time to sell though, nothing is moving.

AH....wonder if it's gotten too big? Items get lost in all the other things people are selling.

My house is full of garage sale finds. I have found a pretty quilt and pillow shams at one sale, 2 sets of sheets and pillow cases to match, the curtains at another sale, throw pillows at another, lamps with the same rose at another and then two pictures at another. You would think that I bought them all at the same place. I collect neat figurines and have many times completed a set at different sales. I love garage sales because you can get what you need at maybe an eighth of the price. One person's junk is another person's treasure. It also recycles many items.

That is so cute JillHill. The face reminds me of the kewpie doll. Such a sweet face. Different and unusual things can be found at yard/garage/rummage sales.

THanks cj....I don't go to many but when I do I try to find something unusual...I watch antiques roadshow the other night and wow! Most of them bought their items at garage sales!

When my mother was alive we used to go to garage sales almost every weekend. We have found many things but off hand I can't think of them all since it has been a while. I haven't been to a sale in a long time. They are fun to go to.

I don't go very often just once in a while. I was on a streak for a while then ended up getting rid of most of the things I bought...I think I did alot of impulse buying!
