I'm not really sure you can put me in one category. I don't really seem to fit just one of what I have heard others say and have not really looked up the meanings of each kind. We are Christians and I do teach the bible, but don't use all Christian material. We do a lot of hands on and life experiences: Like... Shopping, cooking and so on. I don't just use one curriculum, I use what works best for each child and what I can afford. We don't always use curriculum: We play games and such. What about you?

We are also doing a lot of "life skills" training such as cooking, manners, and emotional control. We watch a lot of movies. I basically skim down a text book and get timeline for things and find entertaining presentations about the subject. If its the civil war i find topics pretaining to the part we're on in the book then we watch movies about various causes of civil war and maps about the battle and photos of the war because camera existed then. It keeps my daughter's attention better than sifting through a large history tome.
