Too much artificial gore and violence numbs you somewhat. When faced with a real emergency or dangerous situation you may not react appropriately because your mind will tell you "this isn't real". There was an old man hit by two cars in an intersection recently (I don't remember where, but it was up for discussion here on mylot) and several minutes went by while he lay injured in the road and people walked past. Someone wanted to know why they didn't react to help him and identify the cars that ran the light and hit him. I think it was because their minds were telling them "this can't be real, it must be a prank." That's why I hate prank shows and I detest horror movies.

Not really because more and more new movies will come and that will attract more movie goers. :D

Less gore in movies would loss some attraction because alot of viewers enjoy being shocked and disqusted in movies. Also, that would lose appeal. So i suggest that gore movies stay.
