Aaagh! I spent about a week with my mother; and, after she left, I realized how similar our gestures and verbalizations are! She asked for a weedeater for her birthday; I asked for a garden hoe. I dearly love my mother and have nothing but affection for her, but it's pretty scary to realize how similar we are!

Yes!!!!!! When we used to go shopping with our mom and a sales clerk would ask if we needed help...my mom would always reply....Nope we're just snooping....well all three of us girls hated it.....I am sure we rolled our eyes and made jestures to one another about how we were embarassed we were that she would say that.....well not too long ago I was shopping with my little sister and guess what she said when the clerk asked us if we needed help.....you guessed it! We both looked at each other and started to laugh....we are turning into our mother!

Yes I do. Sometimes I just feel like I look just like my Mom as well. Something about the way my smile is. I do not think we are too similar so I think I really notice when I do something just like she would.

That's too funny. I was in the car with my dad the other week and we were driving towards his place when I opened my mouth and told him which way to take that was the easiest and safest. You guessed it, the same directions my mom used to nag him with. He rolled his eyes and laughed, my mom passed away over a decade ago but for just a few moments she was riding with us again!

Oh, you bet. Things she said that I find coming from my mouth. Things she did. Yep, I see myself doing them. I used to have a sign in my bathroom that said: Mirror, mirror On the wall I AM my mother After all!

Better to act like your mother than to look like her, I think. I have some mannerisms like my mom, but I didn't realize how much I looked like her until like a couple of years ago. When we went out, people would always comment how we looked like sisters, so much alike. My younger sisters got the same thing, although the youngest got more "you look just like your Mama" because she is so young. I never believed it. But then I started seeing faces in my younger sister, that looked just like our mom. I would tell her about it, and she would absolutely scream "No I don't! I don't look like my mama." Of course she would come back at me with it, and I said the same thing. Then there's that fateful day that you happen to make that "Mama" face in the mirror and give yourself a heartattack lol. You just go, "Damn mama! Where you come from?!?" lmao. I did that a few times, and so did my younger sister. Now we don't deny that we look like our mama. The youngest still does, but I can't wait til she catches that look in the mirror lol.

Hello cher913. If I had noticed a moment that I was like my mother, I am absolutely certain that I would totally deny it, not only to myself, but the entire world! I applaud your openness about that. I will say that a couple of years ago, one of sisters said she looked down at her hands one day when she was crocheting and said, "What are my mother's hands doing on the end of my arms?" PearlGrace

I'm turning into my father. Which isn't great really, I've never been close with my father. I just tend to see many of the same tendancies in him that I know I have. Both of us tend to have a desire for absolute control over situations and we horde things (even old and useless things because they may potentially be useful for something someday). I especially realise that I'm becomming him when I fall asleep on the couch but still insist that I'm watching the TV.
