My 2 1/2 yr old son becomes a picky-eater lately. He still eats a lot. In fact, he's big at his age. The problem is, he only eats certain kinds of food. Like, egg, hotdog, longganisa...i am having a hard time, asking him to eat veggies. he used to eat veggies before but now i still need to force him. i don't know why a sudden change? can anyone help me?

As children grows older their interest in food tend to change. I too have a 2 year and 3 month old son who is also piucky at times. You can try masking the veggies into food he likes. Example: If he likes Hot dog, Just cut the hot dog to pieces and make a veggie paste with carrot, spinach or other veggies. Mix little of corn flour or wheat flour. Add little salt and pepper. Now dip the hot dog in the paste, fry and serve.

i'll give it a try...i am actually browsing some recipe books to discover interesting menus that my son would love. i guess, the key here is being creative when it comes to serving meals to toddlers, right?

As they grow their taste buds tend to change. As well, they start to learn habits from others. If kids around them don't like veggies and make it known openly, this is absorbed. (my girls weren't afraid of bugs until they got a babysitter who's kids freaked out at the sight of insects) You can try different ways of fixing the veggies, like adding cheese, spices, mixing it in things etc etc. Otherwise they say to add 1 spoonful to the plate every day. Encourage them to eat it, but don't force them. Eventually they'll try it and may like it.

dont make an issue out of it they pick up on it. I have a two year old she is fussy sometimes, I make one meal for all four of us put it on the table for them and thats it I dont mention it again they get half an hour or so if they choose to eat it great if not then its taken away they get some fruit for pudding (def no treats if they wont eat dinner) and then thats it until the next meal, they wont ever starve and I refuse to pander to her whims unless she really doesnt like something and i know her well enough to know when she is playing and when it truely disgusts her.
