Mylot Interests?

I have found that to be true for me as well. But occasionally I will get a new one show up, to my surprise! I am assuming that those interests are the ones that are most recently updated in your interests. I could be wrong, but that is what it appears to be, that the most popular interest groups get the largest amount of discussions.

It does happen since the more popular the interest is the more people open up discussions in them. It does happen once in a while that one of your interests that isn't very popular gets a discussion. When it comes to opening a new discussion, oftentimes it's your friends who will catch those. When you open a new discussion, notice the different interests you can choose from. They're most likely arranged from the most popular to the least.

They are the most recently updated interests. Or, so I've heard. Right now I have the following interests in my left hand side-bar: Make extra money Life Relationships Friend People Clothes Mylot.com Internet Maybe the list is unique to each member based on their interests.

Some interests are A LOT more popular than others. The interests with the most members will definitely be the most active, and therefore will pop up on the side of your screen the most often. I know with these more popular interests, when I post a new topic I usually get lots of responses right away. With some of my interests with a lot less members, I'll post a discussion and won't get any responses for days... sometimes even months!

Most people want to post in the most popular interests because nearly everyone has those interests in their lists and it will the new discussion much more easy to find than if it is posted under a less well known interest. I also have hundreds of interests listed and most of them have never appeared in my top eight discussions from my interests. I do like to respond to discussions in some of the more unusual interests and I have added a new interest to my list sometimes, after taking part in a discussion. I find these less well known interests in some of my friends discussions or from the new discussions link.

I've noticed the same exact thing! I only have certain interests (myLot, listening to music, and people are very popular) showing up constantly. I only see one or two of the others maybe once a day at the most. It's a shame because I'd like to see some more variation in the topics.
