I want to know whether a person can be hypnotized against his will? If yes, what are the consequences?

For my son's birthday, I invited a local magician who is also expert in hypnotism. This perticular aspect that a person can be hypnotized against his will or he is conscious was discussed and according to the magician, it doesnot mean that he is not aware of anything. He is aware, but on another level. There are two levels: one is unconscious or subconscious awareness. Because the person hypnotized concentrates on his task so intensvely,he is able to do things in this state of awareness that he can't under normal behaviour. Ultimately, the person who is going to be hypnotized has to cooperate. So he has given his willingness and it cannot bedone against his willingness.
