What Would You Do If a Stranger Walked Into Your House Without Knocking?

That's very rude and respectful, but there are people like that out here. My uncle makes it his business to walk in anyone's house that he don't know. I don't know why he does this, but it's crazy and disrespectful all the way.He cuts grass for a living, and sometimes when he see a yard that needs attention, he thinks it's calling his name, so he goes and pecks on the door one time, then he just opens the door and walk in like he lives there. A few times he didn't knock at all.Lucky him, no one has called the police yet. The man has issues

Oh wow, if this happened to me I would be very freaked out. Most the time I am in my room, which is at the opposite end of the house, and most the time keep the doors locked. But I would be very disturbed if this happened. And if they didn't appear to be armed I would be like, umm.. excuse me, who are you, and why are you standing in my house, I didn't not let you in. I know that I would never do something like this! I mean, even when I have gone to friends houses I would knock, and I wouldn't have felt right just opening the door and walking in, even if they knew I was coming I would knock first or call them on my cell and let them know I was almost there. It's just a common polite thing to do, to let someone know you are coming in. I mean, what if you walked in a house and someone was walking around in their undies. That would just be weird

Wow. I don't know exactly what I would do, but I hate the idea of people that I know walking into my house without knocking, not to mention a stranger. I'll tell you this, my dad probably would have shot him, I wouldn't go that far though.

It is not correct that a stranger entering the home without knocking the door. Now a days where security seems to be less people getscared when strangers enter the home. One must knock the door and wait untill someone opens it.

its really bad for a complete stranger to come into your house without knocking, you can mistake the person to be a theif or worse of all a killer,so its better to always keep your doors locked up.

WOW. He might get shot. You should tell him that. Some people will not listen to what he says and shoot him. I would be really angry. A stranger would get hurt if they walked into my house. They would think twice before they walked into someone's home after they entered mine. I own a landscaping company. My clients like me. But I would never do such a thing. It is very rude if nothing else. Plus most of my clients are rich and have alarms. I can see it now. I walk into the house. Then 2 minutes later the cops show up. Throw me on the ground and jump on my back and hit me in the ribs. Then take me to jail.

I sure would telling him to never enter my house again with out knocking and waiting for someone to answer the door. Ah ah, will there you go; he couldn't walk into my house anyway because my door is always locked. He better be careful as some people might shoot first and ask questions later. It really is rude doesn't he understand this at all?

Oh that's not good. He could easily get shot doing that. I don't like anyone I know walking into my house without knocking unless they live here.

Hi There, To be honest, I am not sure what I would do. I do not think I would react very well or peacefully however. For someone to just walk into somebody else's house is a total invasion and can be met with unwanted force. Your uncle really needs to be careful or he is going to come across the wrong person who does not react very well to that. cheers,

I had that happen to me before, A couple that lives in the aparment next to me got really wasted one night and walked into my place, thinking it was there place, haha I had to tell them they were in the wrong place, but they didnt believe me, so i had to call the cops, it really scared me when they came in though cause its never happen untill the other night luckly i didnt have anyting close to me or i probably would have grabbed something and started swinging at them. I cant believe your Uncle just walks into someones house, hes lucky he hasnt been shot or hit up side the head with a hammer.

I will let him know that I was annoyed with my facial expression and I will tell him not to do that again, if possible. It is funny to read your description of your uncle

I would probably call the police right away lol I don't like strangers in my house to begin with lol It is not only rude to the person living there but they don't know if this person is there to hurt them so it is very unsafe your uncle could end up stabbed or worse shot because they thought he was there to hurt them. I hope your uncle learns soon that he cannot be doing that.

It is definitely surprising that no one has called the police on him, I know if someone did that to us my husband or myself would call the police if they didn't leave after us telling them to. But we keep our doors locked at all times, even when my husbanad is here, so it isn't likely to happen to us. I hope your uncle will realize that he doesn't need to keep doing that because I would hate to see him have problems because of it.

I would only do that once at my house, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't get past the dog! However, if he did or didn't get past the dog, I would be calling the cops and reporting him as an intruder. I'm surprised someone hasn't called the cops, and he's real lucky he hasn't gotten his head blown off! He does have issues, and in today's world, he really needs to watch the news a little more often, he's lucky to be alive.

Well, if that happens in other countries, he will land in jail. It is invading of privacy if you just pass other people's yard, how much more if you will get inside the house without knocking? A person who does that can be acused of stealing or robbery and he could be killed by the owner of the house. Well, it is very rude & disrepectful to do that. I will be upset if it hapapens to me. Even if somebody gets inside my room without knocking I am upst with it. It is an invasion of ones privacy when you do that.

Wow that sounds like my fiance's uncle he is always walking in and out of our home with out ever knocking . He know where the key is and there has been times he has be just sitting in our house waiting for us to get home . Needless to see we don't keep the spare key around anymore . He also walks in his sisters house and everyone in the family without ever knocking . My bro will usually just come in when he comes over and i dont mind that .Growing up we had this older lady across the stret who would just walk in our house to talk , and at the worse times . That used to be so annoying . That is kinda rude what he does when he cuts the grass . Has anyone had a talk with him ? He could lose business that way . Anyway , most people hate to be bothered like that .

Well after I pulled my dog off of them, I'd probably ask them who they were and why they were there. If I didn't get a good answer I'd hand them back to my dog while I dialed 911. LOL Last spring a man came to my door while I was home in another room. He opened the screen door and started to step in. (We've had a number of robberies in this area happen this way) Well what he hadn't counted on was my large German Shepherd. The dog sent him running. And so far the man hasn't been seen in my neighborhood again.
