What object would be a burglar's first choice

Why, are you trying to figure out who you should burglarize next? Lol... I don't know that this is the safest question to answer on the internet. THis site is fairly anoyhomous.. but really you could track someone down..... I guess it would have to be my mom's stero... We don't really have anything of super great value though.

Probably jewelry but most of my expensive keepsakes are in the bank in a safe deposit box. Next would be an antique coffee grinder. We don't keep much cash in the house so the burglar would have a real problem searching for cash.

I think, if a burglar is given the choice, he would prefer 'gold' items in comparison to any other item, even if it is hard currency. Now a days Gold is touching dizzy hights and have become very dear. (Few days ago two motor-cylce borne robbers, snatched my better half's gold chain from her neck and she simply could not do anything)

If they were smart they'd take my tapestry. i do not think they would though. maybe one of my prints.

I think it would be cash first of all.

I got to listen to a former professional burglar give a lecture about his former profession once. Here's what he looked for. 1) Cash. You don't have to sell it. It is light and portable. 2) Stamp collections. Light and portable and he was an expert just so he would know which stamps to take. No need to take the whole album, only the 'plums'. 3) Coin collections. Light and portable. Again he was an expert on coins so he did not waste effort on the worthless ones. 4) Jewelery. Light and portable. Again he was expert on what to take or leave. This guy would never take a TV, computer, or anything large or common. He wanted only high value and portable. This burglar drove a Mercedes to work, wore a 3 piece suit, carried his 'stash' in a brief case, and only worked in neighborhoods where Mercedes and 3 piece suits were the norm. He got 25 years on his first conviction. He said it was because the police were on to him and suspected him in hundreds of burglaries, all in homes of the rich. Guess what? The friends of judges and prosecuters are mostly rich. OOPS... not so smart after all!

I have an alarm in my house to protect my dogs and my cat. They are priceless for me. Other objects are too heavy to move so burglars would leave everything alone. I am minimalist. Whatever is at my home helps with my comfort not luxury....

The most obvious would be my large-screen TV which is plainly in sight. There is also a lot of jewelry that my wife owns but that is not as easily found. I would have to think that all my computer equipment would be a catch as it is a lot lighter to get out of the house and is worth a lot of money. Great post Thank you. Zelo

The first item will be taken away is my wallet because it is reachable and contains lots of money!

My Laptop?? But it's secured with password so even if that burglar takes it away, he can't do anything. My TV? Too bulky. My Plush toys? If that stupid burglar dares to take away my plush toys, I'll make sure he suffers. We put all of our other valuables in the bank safe so there's really nothing to steal from my house.

My 24" white Apple iMac Bala. But they'd have to kill me to get it!! I wouldn't want them to steal Goodie either. She's a good wife and a great mother to me!!

If there was a burgler, it's first choice would be the jewelery box in my mom's room. The only problem is, where's the key? If they took the box, they would have no way to open it and would be struggling for days, maybe weeks. That's why its secure.

I think that the first thing a burglar would go for upon entering my home would be my brand new laptop.

jewelry most likeley. When I live in NY my apartment got robbed. They took the only gold necklace I had and a TV.

I would say it would be my computer and Tvs. That would be the fastest for them to get. My jewelery is locked up and other stuff pretty hidden.
