I would also recommend watching HGTV if it is available to you. They have all kinds of shows giving good design tips. Two really good shows for those of us with smaller budgets is "Design On A Dime" (they even have a book out for that show-should be available at a local library). "Design On A Dime" features room makeovers with a $100o budget. Many of their ideas are really great. The other show is "Designed to Sell". This program helps people who are planning on selling their homes. They bring in a local real estate expert to evaluate the property giving the good and bad points. Then a Designer creates a plan to fix the problem areas with a $2000. Again, they provide alot of great ideas. Of course, both programs show how the projects are done so that we can do our own projects at home. Another great idea is to go to thrift stores, flea markets and yard sales. It is amazing some of the good deals that can be found. Good luck.
