sick leave when your not sick at all

Of all the sick leaves I had, about 95% are legit. Some are usually just early symptoms but usually goes away during the day like heavy/dry cough and severe colds. The downside is that in our company, the leaves are both for vacation/sick leaves. We have 20 days a year and we can allocate it depending on what we need. Sadly enough, december last year was a blow to my record. I used up all my leaves as I got sick for three weeks. I was just supposed to be absent on the first day but, that was my plan since I'm not feeling that good. Then, I didn't realize it was that serious that I had to be confined and to rest for three weeks. I'll be careful for what I wish for since I actually got it, and more. Take care!

I generally do not take sick leave when i am not at all sick. my company do not have sick leave set side. we can take them when we are sick. we need to give doctor's certificate.

I dont remember ever taking 'sick leave' without a valid reason. Sometimes its so obvious that people are just having a lie-in after a heavy night out & they blame it on a dodgy take-away :-)

for some employees and some students, sick leaves are just a good excuse to hang out with friends, say, if a student does't like some teacher's lessons, he or she may ask for a sick leave and play.

Some companies pay for the unused sick leaves of the year on the following year. If that is the case, as much as possible i don't use my sick leaves. if ever i get sick, i'd rather use emergency leaves that way i won't have to get med cert. but, if the sick leaves are not convertible to cash...i am doing the same thing...being absent every month even if i am not sick...LOL!
