You're eating in a restaurant. The far corner you see a happy big family reunion. You see a grandpa seemingly in pain, unable to speak, struggling.
If it looks like breathing problem, it may be a choking problem i.e. unswallowed food that's causing blockage to air passage.
It's a first-aid procedure: (please refer to official procedures! here's a casual description)
1. from behind grandpa, wrap your arms and rest your joined fists on upper stomach (looks like a wresting grapple)
2. one of your backhands will be pressing below the grandpa's ribcage.
3. On that soft spot, exert a jerky pressure (it ,ay lift granpa) but the obstruction may shoot off from his mouth
Again please refer to official first aid procedures.
This information was passed to me by a volunteer who has saved one person from choking to death.
I'll be great to be a hero and live to tell about it :)

Should grandpa remain unresponsive, immediately call for help, then put grandpa on the floor and administer CPR if you know how. ^__^
