Youth Crime against National Service

Should we re-instate the natioanl service? Will the national service will help to takle youth crime?
I wonder what is the solution for youth crime. Nowadays, younsters (some) do not have respect for themselves or elders. They lost the value of life. Is National services will be any good?

I have believed in national service as I believe everyone is different and I know even though I am a female I just wouldn't be able to cope with something like that...I feel teaching people about war and killing defeats the purpose, I think just maybe it would be better to make people do volunteering work with in maybe in nursing homes, hospitals and even maybe animal shelters to try and bring out the compassion in them rather than the war aspect...just my opinion.,
