I've Had A Great Day

Rhubarb Patch - This little bush was almost torn up. We were cleaning brush to give the wild raspberries more room to spread out. In the fall we'll move over to the garden area where it will have full sun.

I was up early this morning and worked on line for about three hours. I actually feel like I making some progress. I figure if I just keep trying, I'll find the perfect combination for me and what I need. I'm writing, I do surveys and a few PTC sites. I'm slowly weeding out the ones that don't work for me but now I can concentrate on the things that do work for me. I've learnined a lot of good things here on myLot about working on line and now I'm starting to see things happen. Thank-you fellow myloters for all your wisdom and your honest opinions. I then ventured outside for another afternoon in the garden. We just moved into this house in March. We were told there was a garden in this spot. What they didn't tell us, there hasn't been a garden here in twenty years. Well let me tell you, we hit enough clay to sell to a potter for at least a years supply. And this is the first week without rain! I was beginning to think I wouldn't have a garden this year. It hasn't rained since last Friday so I've been so busy, I'm putting the beavers to shame. Hubby has been down here helping me and the poor man knows absolutely squat about gardening. It's my way of getting him to exercise, whether he likes it or not. All and all it's been a tough job but it's almost finished and well worth it in the end. Now all I can hope for is that we have a warm fall. I'm gonna chop the rhubarb down this week and make Orange/Rhubarb Jam and some Rhubarb/Apricot Jam. The rest I'll freeze up and wait patiently for the strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Then I'm really gonna have some fun. The rhubarb was free. We found it after cleaning out brush to make room for the wild raspberries. My daughter called and said I can also have the rhubarb she has growing out front. Now I'm going to be on the lookout for mason jars yet again. I love summer. I'm not really expecting a reply to this post, I'm not really asking a question. I just wanted everyone to know what a perfect day it has been. I greatly appriciate these days and I wanted to share it. They don't happen often enough. I do think I'll put my order in now for a life time supply. P.S We started way to many tomatoe plants this year and so I was selling off what I had left over. A lady stopped by and bought two trays of tomatoes and two trays of peppers but she forgot her wallet. I let the plants go because I just didn't want to see them die. At least I knew she would use them. She stopped by today and paid me for them. I was very pleasently surprised. She walked around the place with me and told me how nice it was looking. Of course this is all going to my head now. As she was leaving she asked if I would like to go blueberry picking with her and a friend. I accepted. Can this day get anymore perfect?

Thanks Wizzy. I'm not quite sure what's happening but I just had another one. The garden is pretty much finished. I just want to add some marigolds here and there to keep out most bugs. And plant some garlic because it keeps out the rabbits and deer. Now I get a bit impatient waiting for everything to sprout. This place was such a disaster when we first got here. Hubby and I have basically traded places. I'm doing the yard work, he helps with the heavy duty stuff. And he cooks, cleans and does dishes. I love it. Have a great day Wizzy. I ordered up a few perfect days for you too while I was placing mine..
