Is appearance important in choosing our boyfriend/girlfriend?

Yesterday, I came across a radio broadcast programme. The DJs talked about this topic. At that moment, I was sitting in the car with my boyfriend. I looked at him and gave my own judgement, he looked not bad. Haha,I told myself.One guy called up to the DJs, he said appearance is not the most important but it really affects the first impression. He asked the DJs to imagine early morning, when we wake up, we see an ugly face beside us, what kind of feeling will we have? Yucks...It's true.But will it be too shallow to judge a person like this? Everyone wants pretty and nice things, I am sure but it all depends on which level you want yourself up to.Am I right?

Well outside appearance to me does matter although it is not all that matters. You are right, if you wake up with someone whose face is yukkk... then how will you feel,lol!
But my man does not need to be be super handsome, just plain good-looking plus lots of love , lots of thoughtfulness, lots of caring, lots of good kindness, lots of gentleness, lots of goodness, and lots of money for me?(just joking!) but I mean lots of hard work so that he could provide fully well for the family.

I feel comfortable with the fact that my first boyfriend didnt attract me physically at all, but he had a good personality and always found a way to make me laugh. Now I definitely throw looks into the qualities I looked for in a significant other because most of the guys I am attracted to and attracted to me are attractive.

Yes I think good appeatance is important if the one you choose will be your puppy love or girlfriend/boyfriend, but if you will choose the person you want to be your partner in real life then you need to consider not only its appearance but also the attitude he/she had in his/her personality.

I can't agree with you more. I can't bear facing an ugly face everyday, and forcing my feeling of uncomfortable down when I just have a look at my lover. It is true that I consider about her mind most when choosing a girlfriend. A warm heart seems better than a cool appearance whatever to say. But, I just can't bear a day without something nice or a beautiful girl. It is a kind of natural character.

You are right. It's human nature,especially for guys. I can understand this. I think as long as the person you love not bad then should be no problem right?But if the person is too pretty and nice but with crooked heart then also no point to date with such person. That's my opinion.

well, the guy is right in saying that appearance is not the most important but it really affects the first impression. appearance is like bridge. to reach the other side, the "relationship" side, first maybe we will need the bridge. but once we are in the other side, we don't likely need the bridge anymore.
in certain degrees, our loving nature, our personality, our knowledge and others also affect our appearance. you know that for a kid, the most beautiful woman is his/her mother.

well i don't think anyone chooses a girlfriend/boyfriend.its ios not planned it just happens..you amy fall in love with someone who may not be good in appearance but may have a beautiful heart...she may be good from inside.
appearance is also a key factor....
well now the trend is that you go by the appearance.

I don't think appearance should be important. Yes it is the first thing you notice, but you should not judge a person based on their looks. We cannot help our features, only the way we dress and carry ourselves.

yeah it is important but ya that is also true that not for me some of my friends think so i do not think so.... my love is pure and you cannot judge a person how he looks is he presentale or not what really matters is his nature according to me..
