Howdy Doody

Anyone remember The Howdy Doody Show? When I saw that Boso the Clown had died it made me remember the Howdy Doody show. do you think that kids would watch it today. It was on for 13 years.It was not a big action show. Do any of you remember the Howdy Doody show? I think that my favorite character was Princess Princess Summerfall Winterspring .

I sure do remember it. I think I watched it because there were so few choices. It was popular because there was no choice. I don't think it would be a favorite today.

I agree with you It wouldn't be a favorite today. The action would be too slow for todays overstimulated kids. but we sure enjoyed it.

I certainly remember this show. And my kids watched the new Howdy Doody in the 70's. I don't know if kids would watch it now or not. Might be too tame - not for me, but for how kids are in society today, with all the electronic gadgets they have to keep them busy.

I too think that it would bee considered too tame for the kids today. Every thing that is geared to the kids is go go go with so much hyperactivity. very little calmness about it. no wonder there is so much ADD and so on.

OMG!!!!! Thanks for the fond memories! As soon as I read your post I could picture each and every one of them! I sure do remember that show. I haven't a clue whether it's shown on any tv channel anymore or not. See, now those were great shows, and just about any age enjoyed it. Nowadays you have shows that I wouldn't (for the most part) want my grandchildren to watch. I wish they would put this old show into syndication and show it on tvland or something.

I do remember it being on TV but I never watched it, maybe a few times only.. I don't think that kids would watch it now as it would be considered too simple for their tastes.. But I do love a lot of the old shows that are being shown as reruns now on the TVLand channel.. I normally watch the Andy Griffith show every night as 12:00 if I am still awake..

My grandson watches Andy Griffith show here in the morning if he gets up early enough. He works late so gets up late. That is a good show too. I get so tickled at Barny.

I sure do remember it. I wish they could play it again so my grandchildren could see what I watched back then. Thanks for the memories.
