Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Contest...

I just watched the 2008 Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest on DVR. I love DVR. I can watch something, but record something else to catch later. This means that there's always something I want to watch as I'm busy writing. American Joey Chestnut won the contest again this year, beating Japanese competitor Takeru Kobayashi in a dog eat off. The men were in a dead heat after the 10 minute normal competition period, having eaten 59 dogs each! There was then a five dog, winner take all, as fast as you can chew overtime round. Chestnut (who I was routing for being a proud American) won! But as I'm a skeptic, I can't help but wonder if he won because he's an American and it's the forth in New York. You see at the end of regular time, it looked to me, who was watching on DVR as I mentioned, that Kobayashi was going to be declared the winner. However, I'm not judge and wasn't there. I do know that Chestnut without question won the eat off. Did anyone else watch the Nathan's famous contest or am I just a weird, overly bored American?

I do not like to watch that. It is so gross watching these people shove hot dogs down their throats. I wonder what their digestive system looks like afterward. there is no way they are chewing their food. It looks like they just shovel and swallow. Nathan's hot dogs are the best though. I remember as a child every 4th of July, my father would take us to Coney Island, just so that he could get a Nathan's dog off of the boardwalk. Glad you enjoyed the contest.

I can't believe I missed it again. I've only seen it once or twice, but I'm still rooting for Kobayashi. And it seems that he lost again this year, but it was a close match. I like watching food eating competitions because I can't do it, lol. I wish I could, though. Then I would be able to make a little cash, lol.
