Kane and Abel - Gold versus Steel

Have you ever read this book? This is my all-time favorite as it's author Jeffrey Archer has been my all-time favorite author. I made the book my favorite after reading the first two sentences of the first chapter. Yes, it's that good.
The story revolves on two men born worlds and poles apart with nil in common except for their birth date - April 15, 1906 and their sheer determination to succeed in life. It has been a battle between gold and steel with Kane and Abel; the former so blindingly wealthy and influential, the latter so underprivileged and powerless. When they meet, principles and beliefs crashes like war.
I'm telling you, you won't be sorry that you've read the book, there's so much to learn in this book, about history, business, education, sports, banking, parenting, emotions - love, hate, fear, anger, and life itself. You'll find yourself laughing, crying and celebrating with the characters.

I haven't read "Kane and Abel" but I can say Archer is good. The first book by him I read was "Not a penny more, not a penny less", and God how I enjoyd it! A great story, and very witty.
The second was "Shall we tell the president?", readable but not so good as "Penny" in my opinion.
The third was "As the crow fly". Well, it's OK but I hardly will read it once more. As much I understand, "Kane and Abel" may be in the same style. Hopefully it will be translated to my native language also, then I'll give it a try.
I'd like to own a copy of "Not a penny..." in English, though. Perhaps one day I'll find one for a reasonable price.

I've read "Not a penny... " and "As the crow..", I still like "Kane and Abel". I've read so many Archer's but I think "Kane and Abel" is the best, then "The Prodigal Daughter". Never fails to amaze me everytime I reread them..

I actually invented the "Gold versus Steel" subtitle :) You see, I always see Kane as the Golden Boy and Abel, a man of Steel. Sorry for the confusion :). Have you read the sequel though? The Prodigal Daughter is good too, I guarantee a good read. Trust me. ;)
