Do you know the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" books by "Lemony Snicket"?

I just happend to borrow all the 13 books and must say that they are very entertaining but rather grisly. I also watched the movie but -as almost always- it's very much different. Did you read any or all of the books and what do you think about? Did you like them?

I agree, they changed too much, most of all the way the children get more and more involved in using the same methods the evil Count uses. But then, a movie has only 100 minutes and the books go on, and on...

Thanks for the information, paroloza. I have seen the movie as well as played the computer game that was built on the movie's storyline. But I didn't know that there was a storybook too behind it, not 1 but 13!!! I have this habit of downloading ebooks of the movie I've seen, that is, if it is based upon a book. Thus I have read all parts of The Golden Compass, The Chronicles of Narnia and Resident Evil. I also possess hardbound copies of the Harry Potter series and The Lord of the Rings. I had finished up with all these books and was wondering what to read next. Thanks to your tip, I'll be searching for this series over the internet now. Cheers.

Well, congratulations, you are obviously not only a movie watcher but a reader. As I believe that the original books are almost always superior to the movies, you will get much more out of it. Happy mylotting!

I never saw the movie, but I read the whole series. I thought they were pretty good up to the last few. The end book was more disappointing than anything. But, I suppose disappointment was in keeping with the tone of the whole series.
