no. the fake goverment of arroyo will just find a way to get kickbacks from this company and they will not address the problems that we have with regards to sea tragedies. if the government is really serious in addressign the situation, they should be strict in implementing our laws so that they can at least ensure that passengers' lives are not being put to risk because of the greed of these ship owners for profits.

A shipping line run by the government? Forget it! I cannot even begin to imagine what that would be like. The best thing to do really is to tighten the maritime rules in the islands. That way, we can avoid a lot of tragedies in the future.

Of course, a government takeover is a big NO. Sulpicio must answer for all the damages caused if found to be fully liable.

I, too, disagree of having Sulpicio be taken over by the government. This move definitely gives no guarantee to the end of sea tragedies. In my opinion, sailing through the storm was a miscalculated risk.

..not for me.. considering the very dirty government here in the philippines especially in politics.. corruption is very much spread out.. I am a Filipino too and I feel bad about what's going on in our country.. In the first place, why should the government take over sulpicio lines..? accidents happen.. people don't plan them... government can't give 100% assurance that ther will be no more sea tragedies.. for me, it would be better to have specific guidelines to be implemented strictly among all sea/water transportations.. and those who are authorized to implement these guidelines/rules should have a firm standing and not give considerations to their "allies" who try to give monetary rewards (pasuksok).. It is very very shameful..
