Whats the alternative to Gas?

As of yesterday the cost of Gas in the international market was almost $150 and its till rising,so l am worried that by the end of this year Gas could be sold at $200 or more,l believe this is something to think about worldwide,in brazil ethanol is been used to drive cars and this is cheaper,so l ask should the whole world embrance ethanol technology?

Let me tell you my friend that the whole world is looking for something like this and there are many researches going on right now in order to find alternative fuel and which is low in cost and also doesn't Affects the atmosphere adversly.
Based on this the recent development is the Hydrogen fuel which is available in plenty and the end product is pure Water doesn't it sound good.
Hope this technology comes very very quickly.

At present there is no proper substitute for gas and any how we have to bear the current hike in petrol and gas.
