My hubby, daughter and I didn't do anything but watch a movie and sleep. We've been having a really hard time so it's best to just save money and stay home. I'm glad that you have a good time.

To start with we enjoyed a nice cookout at my aunt's house. We watched a beautiful firework display over the water and ate too much food, of course. The rest of the weekend we spent at home doing nothing but relaxing. This was our first weekend that we actually didn't have anything major planned. So, we have some much needed relax time.

Our family went to a parade and fun fair in Breckenridge, CO. We had kettle corn, funnel cakes and the kids did bungee jumping on a trampoline. We sat and watched fireworks over Lake Dillon, it was a good fourth.

We cooked up a bunch of food, some on the grill, some in the oven and had family over. My stepson showed up with some friends and 2 four wheelers, which they took into the cane fields and came back completely covered with mud. Later on we watched two fireworks shows at the same time from our deck. Our nephews on the next street always buy a load of stuff to shoot off, which can be seen for miles since Florida is so flat, and they start earlier than the show in town, which we can see in the distance. Normally, they stop theirs while the town's show is going on but this year they joined in. When the town's fireworks paused as they reloaded, this side fired into the air. When their finale started our boys were ready and a gigantic blast of stuff from across our canal went up too and I have to say that it was outstanding. Big brother across the river had the higher and much larger displays but Little brother on our side kept up with them pretty good. Shortly after that the real grand finale on this side started and then all was quiet again. It's no wonder that my little dog hates the fourth of July.

My husband and I went out on the lake and watched fireworks on the lake. They had so many different people shooting fireworks we didn't know which way to look. We were on a pontoon boat with about 6 other people. It was really nice. Before it got dark we swam in the lake and cooled off. There were a lot of boats out on the lake and it looked neat with all the lights from the boats and then the fireworks.

Hi pixiedustforyou, sounds like you had a blast. The weather was bad here so I stayed in nice and dry had some munchies and watched the fireworks on tv. "Macy's" has a fireworks display every year and they show it on tv, it is illegal for people to set off fireworks here so it was very very quiet.

I went to work for part of the day. But, I got paid holiday pay as well for time worked. I was glad for that. I went home, spoke to my brother about bringing my kids up to him for some of the summer. Then I went to a friend's home for nice 4th of July meal. We ate pretty good, but usually when we get full, we just fall out on her couches and go to sleep. Then we went back home, and took it easy. I got online and checked out some things. then went to bed. all in all a good day. I came into work in a bad mood because my daughter had went to spend some time with a friend that is close to where her father was, and she didn't call him and he turned around and started up a mess saying she was asking her family to get her home, and they just talked about her, so he called me and said to beat her butt and come to find out all of that was nothing but a lie. A big old lie.

Our fourth was really nice! Actually the third of July was nice. The fourth was stressful but still nice. On the third of July, we watched the neighborhood fireworks in the dark and talked. We all had fun. We ordered two pizzas that day. The next day was not so good. It was not too hot, but it just couldn't live up to the third. My family always gets stressed out over big holidays. Usually the days leading up to or away from the big day are better. Same goes for Christmas and New Years.

4th of July used to be celebrated here as Independence Day, dictated by the Americans which liberated us from the Spanish. Well, not really liberated but bought from the Spanish for a sum of money. In the world geo-politics we were ceded to the Americans as part of a treaty to end the war with Spain. When the Americans left, they decided to give us our freedom on the 4th of July which was cool but the Philippine government decided there was a better Independence day, June 12 which Gen. Aguinaldo declared against the Spanish Masters when he heard that the Americans had made war with Spain. Whew!!

Thats is awesome that you guys could see the city fireworks from yalls house. We were going to go to the beach but the weather kinda of scared us off from going to the beach.. So we sat at home and watched some people around our house shot off their fireworks.. It was pretty cool. It ended up raining here for a few mins now its all sunshine outside... Its weird here in North Carolina.. I enjoyed my day yesterday i got to spend it with my new hubby....

Your Walmart sells fireworks? Wow! Fireworks are illegal in NY state. I mean people still manage to get them, and of course there are organized firework shows, but we have to drive to PA to get some for ourselves. We grilled some burgers for dinner and went down to the fairgrounds to watch the firework show. They put on the best show every year with the orchestra playing through out the show. We have never been close enough to hear the orchestra. I wanted to this year, but it was too far of a walk and I just had surgery, so I just brought my chair and sat right where we parked. It was nice. The baby slept straight through the whole thing. The toddler couldn't make up his mind. He kept saying whoa and wow, but then would cry and scream, lol.

I was actually gone all day from 10am to 11pm. We went to a parade, the the firemen from a nearby city had a large picnic in the park. Later on in the evening there was entertainment, then when it got dark the firework display was done. It rained, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
